Larkin - Feedback from presentation to the Game Dev Lunch Club - 9/19

Today I presented the final proposal slide deck to ~15 people in the Game Dev Lunch Club, including Michael Baker and David Cohen. Feedback was very positive, people enjoyed the theme and though it was pretty funny.

Baker wanted to reiterate that he wants this game to start with a single very polished level with solid mechanics and game-play rather than a bunch of levels with bad gameplay.

Cohen felt that some of our concept art might be offensive to people, and would like us to ensure that we play test early on in development with a diverse audience in order to tease out how acceptable our art is. Additionally Cohen said that he could see levels incorporating different playable birds rather than giving them their own separate levels. The multiple play styles on one level gives replayability and player choice.

Larkin/Alex - Weekend Work - 10/14

On Sunday me and Alex worked on animation standards and export formats.  In addition to looking at his animation workflow and adding plugins into Adobe to create sprite sheets, we also looked at blocking out a first level with our pigeon mechanics. Gaby also consulted on level design too. In engine we worked on adding touch input buttons with visual feedback, and also changing our control scheme to allow bidirectional control.

CRUNCH! Part 1 - 11/24

In anticipation for our presentation on Tuesday, the group (Alex, Gaby, and me) met up and worked all day to have a more complete product to demo for Tuesday. We got a much more complete playable app with working controls and mechanics. This result is still unclear on the exact gamification part of this process though
